Since the beginning of 2015, Marion Knebel, technical communicator at parson, works in the tekom project group "Software- Normung" (software standardization).
The project group, which was founded by the advisory board on standards and guidelines of tekom, the association for technical communication, will compare the current standards with the state of development and submit proposals for revision.
The key standards for software documentation are:

- DIN EN 82079-1 (IEC 82079-1): Erstellen von Gebrauchsanleitungen – Gliederung, Inhalt und Darstellung – Teil 1: Allgemeine Grundsätze und ausführliche Anforderungen
- ISO IEC IEEE 26515: Systems and software engineering – developing user documentation in an agile environment
- ISO IEC IEEE 15289: Systems and software engineering – content of life-cycle information products (documentation)
