New impulses for technical communication: Our contributions to the annual tcworld conference

August 20, 2025

The demands on technical communication are continuously increasing – driven by increasing product variance, new standards and regulations, growing personalization, and ongoing digital transformation. At the world’s largest conference for technical communication, tcworld conference, we will present concrete solutions to address these challenges.

How can standards and risk assessments be consistently integrated into documentation? How can artificial intelligence provide real, hands-on support? And how can knowledge graphs and be used more effectively?

We’ll showcase practical approaches to future-proof your documentation processes and look forward to discussing them with you!

Join us at the tcworld conference from November 11 to 13, 2025, in Stuttgart, Germany.

Comparing use in large scale documentation projects

Partner presentation with Martin Blumbach (Ericsson) and Ulrike Parson (parson AG)
November 11, 2025, 10.00 – 10.45 a.m.

Martin Blumbach, Ulrike Parson: Comparing knowledge graph use in large scale documentation projects

As digitalization continues to advance, the demands on technical documentation are also increasing: Documentation must accurately reflect the configured and delivered product, and ideally, be updatable after delivery. Knowledge graphs can store both product data and information metadata that describe modular technical documentation. This capability allows for the creation of configuration-specific documentation and the generation of appropriate documentation for the

Ericsson and parson will present and compare the use of knowledge graphs in different (non-joint) large scale documentation projects, illustrating how to effectively integrate this technology.

You will learn:

  • Benefits of knowledge graphs
  • How to approach the integration of knowledge graphs into technical communication
  • How to use knowledge graphs to increase the accuracy of technical documentation for a specific product configuration

AI in everyday life: Practical support with MCP servers (KI im Alltag – praktische Unterstützung durch MCP-Server)

Presentation by Mark Schubert and Marion Knebel (parson AG), in German
November 11, 2025, 2:00–2:45 p.m.

Marion Knebel, Mark Schubert: AI in everyday life: Practical support with MCP servers

AI is everywhere—but often limited to small talk. MCP servers remove these limits, letting AI perform real tasks on your local machine. They connect natural language with system functions, enabling AI to interact with files, tools, and services.

We’ll show practical examples and explain how to set up and use MCP servers effectively.

Connecting standards, risk analysis, and documentation with IDiS and iiRDS (Mit IDiS und iiRDS Normen mit Risikoanalyse und Dokumentation verbinden)

Presentation with Ulrike Parson (parson AG) and Harald Stadlbauer (NINEFEB Technical Documentation GmbH), in German

Ulrike Parson, Harald Stadlbauer: Connecting standards, risk analysis, and documentation with IDiS and iiRDS

Changes in standards often lead to excessive research efforts for risk assessments. Warning notices based on risk assessments are often inconsistent:

  1. Changes in standards often go unnoticed, and the related risks are not updated accordingly.

  2. In practice, it is difficult to trace specific points in risk assessments back to the requirements in the standards. This is particularly relevant in the field of medical technology.

This creates risks because technical information and risk assessments no longer reflect the current state of the standards. Additionally, 80% of all warning notices remain the same within a product family but are duplicated for different product types.

IDiS, the initiative for digital standards, has used iiRDS as a metadata vocabulary in a prototype for standards in the administration shell. We demonstrate an approach that starts with a digital standard to update risk assessments and derive concrete change requirements for documentation.

Using iiRDS in practice

Meetup with Ulrike Parson (parson AG) and Harald Stadlbauer (NINEFEB Technical Documentation GmbH), in German
November 12, 2025, 11:15 a.m. – 12.15 p.m.

As more companies adopt iiRDS, questions arise around metadata modeling and implementation. This meetup offers space to discuss real-world use cases, share best practices, and contribute ideas for evolving the iiRDS standard.

We’ll begin with a short intro to iiRDS classes, followed by hands-on discussion of your use cases.

CCA panel: Intelligent content delivery – revolutionizing user and customer experience

November 11, 2025, 5:30 – 6:15 p.m., in German

CCA panel: Intelligent content delivery – revolutionizing user and customer experience

The Component Content Alliance (CCA) invites you to a panel on the future of intelligent content delivery. In a world of information overload and shrinking attention spans – how can we deliver content that engages and adds value?

We’ll explore AI-powered content systems shaped by psychology and driven by data: from hyper-personalized recommendations to real-time adaptation. The panel will also discuss metrics for measuring impact, and the fine line between personalization, ethics, and privacy.

Panelists:

  • Ulrike Parson, parson AG

  • Karsten Schrempp, Pantopix

  • André Schlotz, RWS

  • Robert Gutounig, FH Joanneum (researcher in AI ethics and data quality)

Moderator: Dr. Harald Stadlbauer
