GS1: maintain data and documentation simultaneously with a semantic database

August 28, 2023

GS1 is currently introducing a semantic database and an information architecture for the documentation of its GS1 standards. In the future, this will allow to maintain the data model and its documentation together: When changes are made in a GS1 standard, the necessary changes can be identified and made in the documentation.

With parson's support, a suitable semantic database has now been selected: In a proof-of-concept, parson together with GS1 tested Klarso's semantic database klar:suite and the information architecture against pre-defined requirements. In the next stage of the project, the system will be implemented and filled with content.
