A presentation about how to decide between two standards for the exchange of technical documentation, iiRDSiiRDS and VDI 2770, is certainly not everyone's cup of tea.
To make the dry meal a bit tastier, my colleague Mark Schubert and Jan Oevermann (plusmeta) lured the participants of the tcworld conference with a somewhat unusual title.
Thanks to "Cake and waffles" as an analogy for difficult decisions, a considerable number of participants came to the virtual session.
Instead of deciding between iiRDS and VDI 2770, simply do both?
Anyone who attended the tcworld conference can watch the recording and find out the answer (in German). You must have registered for the conference to see the recording.
Those who do not have access may find comfort in these photos we made during the preparation of the presentation. Yo can also send an e-mail to the presenters.

Patrick Schedlbauer and Ulrike Parson show in their presentation at the tcworld conference 2021 that iiRDS is not limited to certain industries, such as mechanical and plant engineering. The iiRDS standard makes documentation smart – so it can be made available on portals, apps and data glasses. Case studies in the field of mechanical engineering are very often mentioned in connection with iiRDS – for example, the scenario of the service technician who uses an end-device to scan an error code on a machine that needs repairing and then receives a snippet of information on the display showing how to fix the problem. This article is about the extensibility of the iiRDS model in the automotive sector. Read more
