Prompt engineering is a relatively new discipline that deals with the development and optimization of prompts. Prompts are structured requests, for example to an AI chatbot such as ChatGPT. Since the quality of results from generative AIgenerative AI is difficult to predict, prompt engineering is used to optimize the structure and style of responses.
